House Rebuild, Chelsea, London

A client who had lived in the house for 10 years asked us to remodel every room in the house, add an attic storey and form a large new basement excavation beneath the house and rear garden within a conservation area. Overall the house was increased in size from 3,830 to 6,350 sqFt and was effectively completely rebuilt.

Having lived in the house for so many years prior to the work, the traditional Arts and Crafts details of the original house formed a starting point for the rebuilding, but the clients interest in French design led to a deeply considered approach to renewal of every space in the house.
