In 2014 we were approached by a developer client with a brief to audit and improve the outline design of a residential scheme for which they had already obtained planning consent and to develop this scheme into a tender package that could be completed by a separate interior designer.
The scheme comprises a new build terrace of 10 traditional houses, each of 6,000SqFT and a separate freestanding 10,000 SqFt house. The whole development consists of 3 storeys above ground and 2 storeys of basement excavation on a very tight site. The scheme was completed in Autumn 2016.
Our challenge in this scheme was to achieve our usual very high standards of detailed design within a tightly commercial context, and also to achieve a BREEAM Excellent standard of sustainability in construction. The project was completed in 2016.
