NEW HOUSE, SANDY LANE, BARBADOS

For a client with whom we had already worked extensively in Europe, we were asked to propose a design for a completely new traditional house at a prime beachfront site on the prestigious Sandy Lane Estate in Barbados.

The house is to be constructed within the classical tradition of local Caribbean Coralstone with teak verandas at first floor level to take advantage of the sea views. The house is inspired by early Messell designs and is to be a modern interpretation of a simple Caribbean beach “cottage”.
